International Women's Day 2018 and TBT to 2010

Happy International Women’s Day 2018

Amazing to see so many fantastically high achieving women this year.

From the amazing Nigerian Bobsled team to Goddesses of US TV and Film slaying in the Oscars. From Greta Gerwigs nomination with Lady Bird Shonda Rhimes continues to inspire with her Showrunning on Scandal, we can admire the Black Panther’s kickass Dora Milaje and even look forward to Serena Williams returning to tennis as well as Ava DuVernay’s Disney Spectacle A Wrinkle in Time.

 

It takes me back to a few years ago when I interviewed some amazing women for the OHTVSpecial “Black Women in the Media” and they all shared how they got ahead in business. Enjoy the clip now and hopefully you will gain some inspiration too.

MLK Day- Martin Luther King's Last Speech: "I've Been To The Mountaintop"

This was his last speech and it holds a special place in time as it was the day before his assassination. If you are one of my Storytelling students then this is a classic example of story structure. Enjoy!

Black Women in the Media Rebooted -2018 Special

I Produced a Feature in 2011 for OHTV, Sky 199 called "Black Women in the Media" Controversial and uplifting it featured among others famous names like ITV Broadcaster Charlene White, Mallorie Blackman MBE, Jessica Huie MBE, Jasmine Dotiwala and BBC Entertainments Correspondent Brenda Emmanus.

Seven years later how much has changed? I'd like to do an update featuring some of the amazing Breakthrough Talent of 2017 and beyond.
